Edmond Sokoloski Obituary

SOKOLOSKI EDMOND J., 92, of East Providence, died peacefully at the home of his daughter Gail, in Foxboro, MA on Sunday, September 28, 2008. He was the loving husband of the late Harriet R. (Ballou) Sokoloski for 21 years.

He was born in Taunton, MA and was the son of the late Albert and Sophia (Wrobel) Sokoloski. Edmond was a 1934 graduate of Pawtucket Senior High School. Following graduation he served in the CCCs, and was a Tech Sgt. in the Army stationed in France and England during WWII. Upon returning home from WWII he entered into business with his father and brother starting Falcon Construction Co. He worked as a carpenter until his retirement in the 1980's.

He is survived by four daughters Carol Wert of New Fairfield, CT, Gail Fanjoy of Foxboro, MA, Patricia Parent of North Providence, Susan Sokoloski of East Providence, 1 son Thomas Sokoloski of Weare, NH, one brother Alfred Sokoloski of Errol, NH, a niece Phyllis Kaczynski of Seekonk, MA, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and four nephews. He was the brother of the late Genevieve Kaczynski, Stanley and Albina Sokoloski.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 8AM from the Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9AM in Sacred Heart Church, Taunton Avenue. Calling hours will be held Friday 4-8 PM. Burial with Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation in Edmond's memory may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 3 Edgewater Drive, Norwood, MA 02062. Visit smithmason.com for information and online-condolences.
