Elvera Tanguay Obituary

TANGUAY, ELVERA M. (FERRANTE), 89, of West Shore Road, Warwick, died on Monday, September 30, 2008 at West Shore Health Center in Warwick. She was the wife of the late Emile Tanguay.

Born in Johnston, a daughter of the late Michael and Nellie (Strakaluse) Ferrante, she was a life-long Warwick resident. Mrs. Tanguay was employed at Anson Jewelry in Providence before retiring 25 years ago.

She is survived by three sisters, Anna M. Gabriel of Cranston, and Amalia M. Devereaux and Lucy J. Rosati, both of Warwick; a brother, Rocco G. Ferranti of West Warwick; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Michael G. Ferrante.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 3, at 10 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Avenue, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited, and may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 9-10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation-RI, Attn.: Memorial, 2374 Post Road, Suite 203, Warwick, RI 02886, or to INSIGHT, 43 Jefferson Boulevard, Suite 1, Warwick, RI 02888.
