Vito DelPonte Obituary

DelPONTE, VITO A., of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. He was the beloved husband for over 50 years of Mary Ann DelPonte, deceased.

Born in Providence, he was the son of Michaelangelo and Lucia (DiLustro) DelPonte.

He is survived by one son, Michael DelPonte, and his wife, Karen G. DelPonte, Esquire, and a granddaughter, Stephanie S. DelPonte. He is also survived by a sister, Mabel DelPonte of Warwick. He was predeceased in death by brothers, Vincent and Joseph DelPonte, and sister, Teresa Carneglia.

Mr. DelPonte was an owner and Vice President of Clark & Coombs Company for over 40 years. He was a lifelong member of the Italo-American Club, Providence, Rhode Island.

His wake will be from 9-10 a.m. Monday October 6, 2008 at 'WOODLAWN' Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, Fair St., Warwick. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860. Michael: My condolences on the loss of your Dad as well as your Mother. I have known you for almost 50 years, and although I didn't know your Dad that well, I do remember your Mom as our Den Mother all the way back to Cub Scouts...Wonderful people who I won't forget.
