I was saddened by the news of the passing of Mrs. Perrotta, but I have fond memories of this wonderful, civic-minded lady. I had the honor of serving with her on the Johnston Town Charter Review Commission back in the early 1980s. Since I had to drive by her house on my way to meetings from my home in Graniteville, I often picked her up at her home on Pine Hill Avenue. She had a steadfast commitment to her community, a legacy that has been passed on to more recent generations of her family and to many others who admired her. I offer my heartfelt sympathies to her family.
