Michael Oliveira Obituary
Born in Providence, he was the devoted son of Anthony Oliveira and the late Agostina (Vittorio) Oliveira.
Michael was a member of the Benny's family, employed as a stock clerk at their warehouse in Esmond, R.I. for over 20 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed singing karaoke with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his father, he is survived by a son, Michael Oliveira, Jr.; three step-children, Natasha, Jason, and John DiGiovanni; a brother, Anthony Oliveira, Jr.; and three sisters, Gina Desrosiers, Marie Williams, and Deanna Young. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Michael's visiting hours will be held Thursday, 4-8 PM in the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated for both Michael and Tammie on Friday at 9 AM in St. Ann Church, Hawkins St., Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.

I was so sad to hear about mike&tammie, my heart goes out to both familys, I just seen them at ST. Rocco's Smiling from ear to ear, not to many people past away being that happy, not two many of us can say we are hero's or give their life for another. Uncle and Cousins, Vin and I are so saddened by the loss of Michael and his beloved wife Tammie. We want you to know Michael, Tammie and all of you are in our hearts and prayers. We are sorry it has been so long since we last saw each other. Every Time we did see Michael he had a smile on his face and, nothing but kind words to say. I met Michael 7 years ago through my best friend . After that 1st day we met he was like my brother. Friday night game night yatzee and football game sundays. GO BIG BLUE! Many thoughts came to my mind , but no words parted my lips when i heard about his tradgedy. I still can't believe you and tammie are not with us any longer..It was just a short time ago I was celebrating your marriage. My heart smiled watching the joy on both your faces. You were truly happy..I will hold that memeory of you in my heart along with many others....Mike, you truly were an amazing person who has touched the hearts of many. I was lucky enough to work with and enjoy Michael through Bella and Old Mill Tap. His friendship and kindness was immediate upon our introduction. My baby brought such happiness to him and I'm glad to say the feeling was returned. They say no one dies alone. The angels come to take you by the hand and escort you to heaven. Michael died saving the love of his life and now they well live together forever. We grieve for them, but they smile upon us while they await our arrival. He is missed.

Deanna, family, and friends of Michael and Tammie,
I recently ran into Michael and Tammie at a resturant right before they were married. How proud he was to introduced me to his fiance tell me that they would be getting married. I didn't know either of them that well, but the love they had for eachother was evident in the five minutes I spent talking to them. Their love shined through so brightly. Michael, I hope you and Tammie will always be as happy as I will remember you that day. Scott will miss you very, very much. I hope that all of you find some comfort in knowing how others felt about Michael. What a great, smiling, caring friend he was to many. God Bless you all at this time of sorrow. I knew Tammie and her family, but I never got a chance to meet Mike. But I know he was a special person. When someone gives they're life trying to save another they have a special place in heaven. I pray that Mike's family and friends find comfort knowing they are now safe and together.

We met Michael when he came to our Gaspee Day celebration for the first time several years ago. Our outstanding memory of him is that he was the shiniest person we have ever met with a lovely warm smile and we will miss seeing him from time to time.
