Noel T. Vient

VIENT, NOEL T., 80, of Main Avenue, Warwick, died on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Kent County Memorial Hospital in Warwick. He was the beloved husband of Jean M. (Farrell) Vient for 54 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Edmond J. and Alice H. (Costello) Vient. An Army Infantry veteran of World War II, he served in Korea.

Mr. Vient was co-founder of the Vient Insurance Agency, Inc. in Warwick. He was employed by Narragansett Electric Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Apponaug Old Timers and a life member of the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Co. He was an accomplished pencil sketch artist and member of the East Greenwich Art Association. He was a proud member of the first Halls of Fame of Bishop Hendricken High School and The Prout School. He was an All State football player from Lockwood High School.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Marilyn J. Lamendola, and her husband Richard, of North Kingstown, and Kathryn M. Vient of Warwick; a brother, Edmond R. Vient of Warwick; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

His funeral will be held on Friday, October 10, at 9:15 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Catherine Church, 3252 Post Road, Warwick. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8 p .m. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
