Mary Mergener Obituary
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Charles J. and Catherine T. (Kennedy) Donnelly. She was a resident of North Providence since 1969. Mrs. Mergener was an accountant for her family's business, Donnelly's Clothing Stores for many years in addition to being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church and for many years she volunteered as an Income Tax Preparer for the Elderly.
Besides her husband she leaves two sons, Stephen M. Mergener and his wife Virginia of San Diego, CA and Paul R. Mergener and his wife Tara of Alexandria, VA; two daughters, Theresa M. Holt of North Providence and Sharon A.M. Mitchell and her husband Jeffrey of Erie, PA; a brother, David E. Donnelly of North Kingstown and six grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Charles T. Donnelly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Interment will be private. Visiting hours Sunday 4-6 p.m. in the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Fruit Hill Day Services for the Elderly, 399 Fruit Hill Ave., North Prov., RI 02911 in her memory would be appreciated. My genuine sympathies go out to you
and your entire family. I was so shocked to hear about your Mom when I asked you at the pool how she was as it was very rare that you were there without her. She will be remembered by me as a very pleasant and caring person she was such a delight to talk to in the whirlpool and sauna she will br forever missed. My prayers are with you and your Dad and children always. Always keep her memory alive as that always worked for me to get through my Mom's loss. may God Bless you always.

Dear Roland & Family; Elaine and I send you our sympathies at this time in sorrow for you all. I have just found out of Mary's passing on Friday. It was a surprise to see you all in the Hospital on Thursday and an honour to spend a few moments with Mary in the Unit.
May her spirit be with you all as you continue to walk this journey we call life. She lived perfectly what the word "positive" is all about. When the clouds clear may you also live this word in her honour.
