John DeRestie Obituary

DeRESTIE, JOHN A. 'MAC', 83, passed away October 19, 2008. He was the husband of Marion A. (Moberg) DeRestie, with whom he just celebrated his 58th wedding anniversary with on October 10th.

Born in E. Greenwich he was the son of the late Domenic and Celeste (Tortolano) DeRestie.

He was a heavy equipment inspector at Quonset Point and at Davisville, a US Army WWII veteran and an avid gardener.

Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Beth E. DeRestie and her companion David Moore and Lisa A. Ross and her husband Stephen, three sisters, Anne Banz, Rita Bjorndahl, and Mary Rodgers and was the brother of the late Jimmy and Peter DeRestie. He was the loving grandfather of; Allison, Nicholas, and Emily.

Funeral service Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., E. Greenwich. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Callings hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the E. Greenwich United Methodist Church or to the Kent County YMCA.
