Blanche E. Homan

HOMAN, BLANCHE E. (MILLER), 90, of Greylawn Avenue, Warwick, passed peacefully into the Lord's hands surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Clifford L. Homan.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Ralph E. and Myra M. (Cole) Miller, she lived in Warwick since 1950.

A long-time member of the Lakewood Baptist Church, she served as a Deaconess, Sunday School Superintendent, and as a member of the choir. She was a Past Grand Deputy of the International Order of Rainbow, and a member of its Grand Cross of Color. She was past Mother Advisor to Warwick Assembly # 15, International Order of Rainbow.

Mrs. Homan was a member of Adah Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member and Past Matron of Sincerity Chapter #24, Order of the Eastern Star. She was Past Noble Grand of Naomi Lodge # 1 of Rebekah, and a Past President of the Odd Fellows Home Association.

She is survived by five daughters, Donna M. Smith and her husband Lincoln Smith, Jr. of Warwick, Dayle A. Ankrom and her husband Raymond of North Kingstown, Sandra J. Witt, Cecily L. Douthit and her husband Dale, and Gilberta A. Iannotti and her husband William, all of Warwick; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ralph E. Miller, Jr. and Charles F. Miller, Sr., and the mother-in-law of the late Benjamin H. Witt, III.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 22, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a service at 10 a.m. in Lakewood Baptist Church, 255 Atlantic Avenue, Warwick. Visiting hours are Tuesday 1-3 & 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of Lakewood Baptist Church.
