Livia Spanedda Obituary

SPANEDDA, LIVIA 'LEE', 83, of Providence, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Roger Williams Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Joseph M. Spanedda.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Antonetta (Palumbo) Conti.

Mrs. Spanedda had worked for the Department of Employment Security for 41 years before retiring. She was past department president and post 5 president of the Italian American War Veterans Auxiliary.

Mrs. Spanedda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Besides her husband of 50 years, she is survived by a son, Joseph G. Spanedda; a daughter, AnneMarie Panciocco and her husband Peter. She also cherished every minute she spent with her three treasured grandchildren, Christine Spanedda, Michael and Maria Panciocco. She was the sister of the late Concetta and Lucy Conti.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Ave., Providence. VISITATION, Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the RI Scleroderma Support Group, 18 Talbot Manor, Cranston, RI 02905.
