Helen McDonald Obituary

McDONALD, HELEN (ROMANSKA), of Rumford, formerly of Rumford Towers, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. 'Todd' McDonald.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Brunus and Mary (Kowalewska) Romanska, she resided in Rumford for the past 10 years. Helen was employed by Textron until retiring in 1977. She was devoted to her family. She loved nature and spent many happy hours bird watching and gardening. She loved the ocean and enjoyed winters in Pompano Beach, FL and summers at Bonnet Shores.

She leaves one daughter, Sharon A. Nixon and her husband Jack with whom she resided; one son, James B. McDonald and his wife Barbara of Santa Barbara, CA; one sister, Agnes Jackson of Warwick; six grandchildren, Jennifer Macnamara, John B. Nixon, Meredith Nixon, Brian McDonald, Courtney Aguilar and Elizabeth McDonald and two great-grandchildren, Bayley and Robert Macnamara.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford. Interment will follow at Rumford Cemetery.
