Adolf Buonanno Obituary

BUONANNO, ADOLF, 89, of Summit Dr., Cranston passed away Monday October 27, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Elvira (Riccitelli) Buonanno, and they just celebrated their 60th anniversary.

He was born in Providence a son of the late Antonio and Maria (Cianci) Buonanno. Mr. Buonanno was the co-founder and owner of the Buonanno Pharmacy in Providence. He was also the owner of the Goodyear Loan Company and several Goodyear Laundromats. He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed golfing and exercise. He was also a WW II Army veteran.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving sons, Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. A. Robert Buonanno and Dr. William S. Buonanno both of Cranston. He was the loving father-in-law of Deborah Buonanno and cherished grandfather of Marisa Hamrah, A. Robert Buonanno, Jr. and Leticia Burman, and was the great grandfather of Francesca Hamrah. He was the brother of the late Catherine DiPippo, Frank, Orlando and Ursula Buonanno and Josephine Tutalo.

His funeral will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston St., Cranston, the Mass will be officiated by The Most Reverend Louis E. Gelineau, Bishop Emeriti of Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery Cranston. It was brought to my attention by my dad, Deacon Armand Ragosta, who would bring communion to your dad when he was ill and who served at the funeral mass at St. Mary's Church.
