Jacqueline Kucera Obituary

KUCERA, JACQUELINE F., died peacefully Sunday evening after complications from a stroke. She was born in 1928, the daughter of Adelaid and Cecile Fortin.

Jackie grew up in New Bedford, MA and attended the Sacred Heart Academy before going on to Boston University and the Chamberlain School of Retailing. She met her husband to be, Henry Kucera, at a Harvard University Foreign student mixer. She spoke French and pretended to be a Belgian exchange student to get in. They married in 1951. They traveled widely and lived abroad before settling in Providence, RI to raise two sons. Jackie and Henry retired to their summer cottage in Freedom, NH where she lived among friends into her golden years and became the proud grandmother of three.

Jackie, our sadness at your passing is overcome by our many fond memories during your lifetime. Sleep in peace.

Cards or flowers may be sent to Henry at 353 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, RI 02906 or donations may be made in her name to The Freedom Public Library, PO Box 159, Freedom, NH 03836. Private services will be held for the family in Providence.
