Walter Holiday Obituary
Walter was the son of Nicholas Siravo and Mary (Lombardi) Siravo of Sandy Lane, Warwick, Rhode Island. Walter graduated from the University of Rhode Island and then joined the Army as a lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps.
After Army service, Walter moved to the Los Angeles area, where he became a highly respected and successful real estate broker and land developer having worked on Lake Arrow Head, Salton Sea and other notable land developments in the state of California.
Walter was a generous philanthropist and friend to the needy. His donations to numerous Catholic endeavors and food for the poor were most notable. He was a trusted landlord and loved to dance all throught his adult life. He was a long term member of the National Smooth Dancers of Los Angeles. He was an avid traveler and visited many countries around the world.
Surviving family members include: Ms. Sydney Jean Stanley and Virginia (Siravo) Stanley of Coronado, California, Jeffrey Mark Stanley of Mission Viejo, California, Kathryn L. Stanley of Shelbyville, Kentucky, and Adrian Stanley of Milford, Ohio.
Also surviving include: Cy Siravo of Wakefield, Rhode Island, nephew and loving godson, Edward Siravo, Jr., of Warwick, Rhode Island, William Siravo of Garden City/Cranston, Rhode Island, Emily Siravo of Warwick, Rhode Island, Doris Vetesse of Middletown, Rhode Island, Anthony Siravo of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, Thelma (Siravo) Duffy and Dolores (Siravo) Prusha of West Warwick, Rhode Island.
This Thursday, October 30, visitation will be held from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10:00 a.m. at the Saint Augustine Catholic Church, 3850 Jasmine Avenue, Culver City, CA 90230 with Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, 5835 West Slauson Avenue, Culver City, CA 90230.
In lieu of flowers the family recommends donations to the St. Augustine Catholic Church, 3850 Jasmine Avenue, Culver City, CA 90230.
