John Padula Obituary

PADULA, JOHN A., of North Providence, formerly of Woodside Ave., West Warwick, died peacefully in his sleep at home on Tuesday, October 28, 2008.

He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Mitchell) Padula. John recently celebrated his 90th birthday on October 23rd.

Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Concetta (Petrarca) Padula. He was a World War II Army Veteran, and retired from Quonset Point NAS in 1970 after working there for over 20 yrs.

He enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, nature, and was an exercise enthusiast. He was a past president of the Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Eleanor Padula, of North Providence, with whom he lived, his sons, Thomas Padula and his wife Patricia, of Pawtucket, and Joseph Padula and his wife Frances, of Wrentham, MA. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, and John Padula, his sisters, Mary Boyer and Anna Manish, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the brother of the late Amedeo and Albert Padula, Stella Doiron, and Lena Kowal.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 am from the Robert A. Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte. 117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in SS John & James Church. Burial with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 pm.

Dear Tom, Eleanor and Joe,
