Lucia DeFusco Obituary
Mrs. DeFusco was a classically trained opera singer who performed professionally for a number of years. Lucy was a 'People Magnet'. No matter where she was, people gravitated to her. Her charismatic nature made it easy for her to relate to both young and old.
Lucia is survived by her children, Robert L. DeFusco and his wife Carol of Dover, MA, Roberta D. DeMarco and her husband Dennis and William J. DeFusco and his wife Toniann all of Cranston. She was the beloved grandmother of Jaclyn, Jennifer and Stephen DeFusco and Louis and John DeFusco. She was the sister of Raymond Cardi of Tucson, AZ and the late Ida DiFusco, Catherine Guglielmo, Alphonse, James, John, and her twin Armando Cardi. She was the beloved aunt of Joan Cardi Sousa, Doris F. Bove, Alan DeFusco, Jr. and many other nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 10AM from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Mary's Church, Cranston St., Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS; Friday 4-8PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Foundation of RI, 1117 Douglas Ave., Unit #2, North Providence, RI 02904. I wouldn't even know where to start but to say that Sunday a twinkle of starlight shone brighter in the sky that night. Bobby and Roberta, your mom raised two amazing people who I have come to dearly love. She was truly a great woman and one that I had a lot of respect for. Lucy was a dear dear best friend and confidant to my mother Mary Montuori. She bestowed upon her the gifts of laughter(!), fun, insipration, and love - all without even knowing it.
Lucy was a total inspiration to us all -truly living life for the moment, and enjoying every one of those moments to the fullest. No matter how she felt, she was always a true joy to be around and was always up for anything- and you never once heard her complain.
Lucy, I love you very much, and this world is definitely a richer place for having had you and your beautiful spirit pass through it.
Now that you are in a better place, I'm sure that you are already shedding your brillant light upon your new surroundings.
