Elizabeth Prendergast Obituary

PRENDERGAST, ELIZABETH, ANN 81, formerly of Walnut Street, died peacefully on October 29, 2008 at the Keswick Multi-Care Center, Baltimore, MD.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Howard D. and Mary (McKenna) Prendergast, she lived in East Providence and Chevy Chase, MD.

Miss Prendergast was Chief Nutritionist, Maternal & Child Health Bureau in the Health Resource Service Administration, Department of Health and Human Services for many years before retiring in 2000.

Elizabeth Ann attended Sacred Heart School and St. Mary's Academy Bay View. She received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Rhode Island and a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina.

She is survived by a brother; Howard D. Prendergast and his wife Anne of Rumford, a brother-in-law; Robert Lange of GA, a sister-in-law; Jean Prendergast of FL and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary A. Lange, Rita M. and Joseph T. Prendergast.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday November 1, 2008 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNER AL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, Taunton Avenue, East Providence at 11 am. Burial will follow in Mount St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday morning 9-10 am.
