Michael Gallacher Obituary
He graduated from Providence College in 1963.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, 896 Main St., Manchester, CT followed by a procession for burial with full military honors in Hillstown Road Veterans Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may gather at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, CT on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manchester Memorial Hospital 71 Haynes St. Manchester, CT 06040.

Dear Kathy, Odey and I were at lunch today in St. Pete with old friends from Hartford, reminiscing about our hospital days and were shocked to hear of Mike's death. So sorry we didn't hear sooner, and we send you our love and prayers. Hope to see you in Manchester this summer.

Rachel, Mrs. Gallacher, Richard, Steven, and Michael,
I was so saddened to hear of Mr. Gallacher's passing. I also lost my father this year and know the tremendous loss and sorrow that you are feeling. I have such wonderful memories of the times that were spent at your home and on vacations in RI during my high school years, I always felt welcomed and loved every minute spent with your entire family. Gallacher Family,
I worked for Mike for many years at Manchester Memorial and he was certainly one in a million. I learnt so much from him how to be a decent, compassionate human being. He was an awersome husband and father. I know you will all miss him deeply but I think all our lives were blessed to have him be part of ours. Although we only met him a few times during the summer in Matunuck he was such fun to be with, he had a wonderful sense of humor and really listened when we spoke. Years ago I was wheeled into the surgical suite and saw Mike, gowned up, waiting for me. When I saw he did not have a scalpel in his hand I was relieved and he told me that he would not miss this surgical assault on me for the world. He did not belong there but certainly was a smiling, friendly face that I needed.
He was a class guy and a good friend that will be missed by many.
