Carl Nilson Obituary
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Leonard and Elise (Hoelschen) Nilson.
Mr. Nilson was employed with the Town of North Kingstown, specializing in Structural Maintenance, for 14 years and previously was a Boss Mender for the Peacedale Mill for 10 years. He served in The United States Army during WW II. He was a 70 year member of the Rumford Grange and a past member of Washington Lodge F&AM, the Lions, and the Elks.
He was the beloved father of Carl N. 'Chip' Nilson, II and his wife Lynn of North Kingstown and Cathy E. LaBorde of North Kingstown. Caring step father of Shirley Gulvin of Freedom, NH and Sherry Ann Tibbetts of North Kingstown. Loving grandfather of five and great grandfather of seven. He was the brother of the late Leonard Nilson, Jr. and Burton Nilson.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation Saturday 10:00 am - 12 Noon followed by a Funeral Service at 12 Noon in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial will be private. www.murphyfuneralhomes.org

Ned was a wonderful man and a great co-worker. Always willing to help out when he worked in the Facilities Dept for the Town. Always congenial. We had a lot of laughs and he was a pleasure to know. My sincerest sympathies.
