Arthur Gould Obituary
With a career in the US Marine Corp., Sgt. Gould served in WWII and Korea and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a life member of the DAV and an active member of the Marine Corp. League Kent County Detachment. He also was a friend of Bill W. and an avid golfer.
Besides his wife, he leaves sons, Arthur E. and Joseph P. Gould and Michael J. Jackson; daughters, Patricia A. Notchick and Regina J. Crist; a special nephew, Michael R. Moscatelli as well as other nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Helen Gervais, Marion Morett, Lillian Whitehead, Louise Scott, Elizabeth Moscatelli, George C. and Robert J. Gould.
Committal and Burial with Military Honors will be Monday at 10:00am at the RI Veterans Cemetery Columbarium, Exeter.

Evelyn, My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Arthur was a special and meaningful guy to all of us. It was wonderful to see him on a Sunday night a few weeks ago. He looked good and I'm glad we have this nice memory of him.

Dear Evelyn--It is with great sadness I learned of the passing of Arthur. As I frequently said, "Arthur knew my family (at least, my uncles who lived in Apponaug) better than I," and it meant a great deal to me to have that connection.
Arthur was a man of surprising humility (beneath the bluster), a man of compassion, wit, and wisdom. He was ever mindful of the plight of others and sought to help in any capacity he could. I enjoyed him immensely-- certainly more than he ever knew.
The world is a better place for having Arthur's influence and care. His compendium of war stories and experiences, alone, always gave Tom Brokaw's "Greatest Generation" a serious run for its money.
I will miss him greatly and will keep him and you--Evelyn-- in my prayers.
