Gram,

Thank you for always sharing all the wonderful, interesting stories of your life with me. I enjoyed so much just sitting and talking with you, listening to the stories of you and your father and stepmother, and your brothers and sisters, and your trip over from Italy. I found it so interesting to listen to what it was like for you growing up. Your eyes have seen so much change…96 years of change to be exact…Remarkable…

Thank you for welcoming me with open arms and a warm heart into your life, and your family. You and I hit it off right from the very beginning. We would sit and talk about the people we had loved and lost and it meant so much to me that you always understood me and always were so caring.

Thank you for raising two wonderful sons…I thank you especially for helping to raise an awesome man - my father-in-law Bob - who has in turn helped to raise a wonderful man who is now my husband, Ron.

And now Ron and I are parents. At this point in time, Nathan is the one who will carry on the Smith name for our family. I PLEDGE to you to do my best as his mom to ensure that he will be a man of whom you can be proud, Gram. I take his place in our family very seriously. I am so very grateful that you got to meet Nate. I promise I will talk to him about you. He WILL know you.

Thank you for being my Gram.
I love you,
Melissa
