Pietro Verrengia Obituary
He was the beloved husband of Arlene F. (San Souci) Goyette Verrengia and the son of the late Antonio and Maria (Broccoli) Verrengia. He was father to Michael C. Goyette of Taunton, MA, Steven C. Goyette of Pawtucket and Robert D. Goyette of Providence. He was grandfather to five. Brother of Anna Kelley of No. Providence, and the late Guido and John Verrengia of California, Lucy Pernorio of No. Providence and Phyllis Lombardi of Providence.
Born in Providence, he graduated Central High School and Bryant College. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He moved to Pawtucket in 1993. Active in union politics, he was a member of Teamsters Local 251. Upon retiring in 1986, he founded and was President Emeritus and Trustee of Teamsters Retiree's Local 251.
He loved dancing, pinochle, gin rummy and was an avid sports and music enthusiast.
VISITATION will be held Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket.
