Avis Gardner Obituary
Born in Barrington a daughter of the late George and Freelove (Holmes) Peck, she lived in Barrington most of her life. She was the last surviving member of the Peck Family, a founding family of Barrington. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:30 PM in the Smith-Mason Funeral Home 398 Willett Avenue Riverside with burial in Princes Hill Cemetery in Barrington. Avis requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Endowment Fund of the Riverside Congregational Church 10 Oak Avenue Riverside 02915. Dear Aunt Avis, I have always thought you were the greatest lady. I always enjoyed your Christmas cards,and the letters that came with them.Your step- granddaughter Libby and i have some of the best memories of your gardens,and your lovely home.you will always be in my prayers.Love & prayers,rest in peace dear lady. niece Eleanor M. She was always a beautiful lady, who grew the prettiest garden I've ever seen. I remember her canaries in the kitchen,and the way she gave me oyster crackers when I couldn't wait for the Thanksgiving turkey to be done. I would poke around her house every chance I could, it was full of interesting things.I'm sorry we lost touch when I moved away, but I always respected her goodness, and her being a lady in the true meaning of the word. Rest in Peace.

I miss you! I loved Mrs.Gardner,she will be deeply missed. I will miss her kisses she gave me everyday she saw me.....I hope she is looking down on me....
