I am so very sorry to hear of Francis' passing. He was a very good friend of mine. What a very bright fun loving and caring person. He achieved a very full and accomplished life in a short time. My prayers are with him. We are sorry we were unable to get to the funeral home on that Sunday afternoon as we spent hours on route 6 highway with the oil spill.

i knew Frank when I was at RISD. As a fellow irishman we had so many great talks at Mcgovern's and his endless storytelling and humor has stayed with me all of my life. There was nothing that Frank did'nt know something about and I always felt smarter and priviliged to have called him a friend. I'm sure his eyes are still as bright as ever and he's sharing some funny story with some lucky guy who took the stool next to him at the bar. An irish blessing for you and thanks for the good times.

Frank, you were truly one of a kind. You possessed the Irishman's wit, strength of character, great 'Harpie' looks, and the ability to spin a tale that few could match. I did see you fall once, you fell on your sword for a friend in need on that fateful Christmas Eve when you left your Mom's house for a few guys needing your expertise. That act alone acquitted you of any faults, and showed you to be among the stars here on Earth; now shine from the Lord's House and rest in peace. We will miss you.

Miss you Frank...could not make it to Prov. yesterday because of the gas spill on 195. They closed route 6 also.

I was a classmate of Frank's at Boston University Law School and he was a brother at the bar for many years thereafter. Of course, I had known him prior to that when he was at LaSalle. He was indeed gifted. Although it has been many years since I last enjoyed his company, I will miss him. I will remember him for his keen intellect, sense of humor , compassion, ability to connect with people from all walks of life, and his zealous and effective advocacy for his clients. May he rest in peace.

I have just learned of the untimely death of my old friend, colleague, and Smith Hill neighbor, Frank Mackey. Shocking news that will take a long time to digest and understand. May he rest in peace, and may perpetual light shine upon him. I will never forget him.

Frank was a genuinely good, kindhearted, sincere man. I only met him a few months ago, but he made an indelible impression upon me. There was something special about him that made me realize right off the bat that I wasn't dealing with just an ordinary person. He had personality, intelligence, and a great sense of humor. He was deep, compassionate, and understanding. I feel fortunate to have met him and spent time with him. I regret that I wasn't there to help him when he needed someone. He will be sorely missed.

Unimaginably sad.

I was one of Frank's roommates at Harvard. He joined a large group of us in Eliot House's K entry for his senior/our junior year. Frank was "indeed" (a word he loved) a history buff. We had many good times during that year and later, when my wife and I returned to Little Compton for vacation. I'm now an Episcopal priest (Grace Church in downtown Providence). I tried, unsuccessfully, to contact Frank when I came to town. My condolences, best wishes, and blessing to all of you. Frank died entirely too young.
I look forward to meeting you on Sunday afternoon.
