Norma Manson Obituary

MANSON, NORMA J. (SWANSON) 86, of Blackburn Street, died Thursday at The Scandinavian Home, Cranston. She was the beloved wife of the late James Manson. The couple had been married 60 years at the time of Mr. Mansons death in 2003.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Pher Richard Swanson and Josephine Brobeck Swanson. She was a lifelong resident of Warwick. Mrs. Manson was a Supervisor of retail clothing for Dutchmaid Inc. before her retirement in 1979. She was a longtime member of Hillsgrove United Methodist Church now Open Table of Christ Church and was a former Sunday School Teacher at the church.

She was the loving mother of Richard J. Manson and his wife Donna M. Manson of Cranston and the cherished grandmother of David J. Manson of Cranston and sister of the late Ernest Swanson.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9:00am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Rt. 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday 3-6pm. In lieu of flowers gifts may be made in her memory to The Scandinavian Home, 1811 Broad Street, Cranston 02905. www.murphyfuneralhomes.org
