Carl Anderton Obituary

ANDERTON CARL W., 71, Zephyrhills, Florida and Stow, Maine, passed away peacefully November 2, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving wife of 50 years Patricia and his family. Carl was a loving husband and wonderful father with many talents

He loved to travel and enjoyed volunteering his skills both in the United States and Africa. Growing up in Rhode Island he was one of five brothers. After High School graduation and some College he married Pat, started his family and decided self-employment was what he wanted. Moving to Maine in 1970 he soon became active with the Fryeburg Rescue and continued for over 25 years. Carl and his family owned and operated a canoe livery for many years before semi-retiring and traveling with the Sojourners to offer help to various churches in need.

Carl is survived by his wife Pat. Sons, Glenn of Fryeburg, Maine, Gregg and his wife Linda of Las Vegas, Nevada, daughter Carolynn Plowden and her, husband John of Stow Maine, as well as eight grandchildren whom he adored. A celebration of Carl's life will be held on Sunday. November 16, at 1:00P.M. at the Fryeburg Rescue Building on Route 302 in Fryeburg. Donations to Fryeburg Rescue.
