Shoshana Hillelson Obituary
She was born September 13, 1925, in Stuttgart, Germany to Adolf von Eberhardt Dindinger, the Duke von Eberhardt, former Adjutant General to Kaiser Wilhelm and famed architect of pre-war Berlin, and to Tatjana Wiczewski Dindinger, educator, of Russia.
Shoshana Hillelson was a member of the German Olympic figure skating team in 1944 and was a concert pianist of international renown with Toscanini.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of sixty years, Upton M. Hillelson of New York City, former president and CEO of the New England textile conglomerate Granite Mills, Inc. She also leaves her three children Howard Hillelson of Atlanta, Dr. June Hillelson of Grand Rapids, MI, and Ruth Hillelson, MD, and her beloved son-in-law Terry L. Whipple, MD of Richmond, VA. Also to be remembered as loving family are Col. Larry K. Whipple, USAF retired, his wife Deb Whipple and daughter Austen of Cocoa, FL. She takes our hearts with her.

Mrs. Hillelson was my neighbor when I was growing up in Pascoag, RI. I babysat her children many times and remember her as a beautiful and kind woman.

We had the pleasure of being Shos neighbor in Boca Raton and came to know her and Upton through the years. We respected them and appreciated the many talents Sho had and loved to listen to her storys. They were almost like adopted grandparents to our children. We Miss Upton and wish the Fmaily our best and deepest sympathy. Peace be with you all.

I remember Sho as a true lady of extraordinary kindness and almost larger than life energy. As a young boy she taught me how to appreciate the grace and beauty in the world around us and though we have lost touch for many years...I have never forgotten her. I pray her passionate soul is at peace and know her memory forever endures in the countless lives she touched.
