R. Knox Obituary

KNOX, R. CLAIRE, 86, of Pompano Beach, FL, formerly of East Greenwich, RI, and Ventura, CA, died Friday, November 14, 2008. She was the wife of the late Crawford W. Knox, to whom she was married for 52 years.

Born in NJ, she was the daughter of the late Rubie May (Perinchief) and Edmund Goldie North. She raised her children in East Greenwich before moving to California. She spent the last eight years in Pompano Beach, where she was active in her housing association. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed swimming and loved to travel, having visited Paris last year.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth E. and his wife Marianne of Seekonk, MA and R. Wayne and his wife Gloria of Alexandria, VA, a daughter Laura Claire Knox of Ventura, CA, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Alva Hamilton of CA, the late Helen Frear, Laura Turner, Grace Ambard, Virginia Womack and her twin Edmund G. North.

Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
