Normand Cournoyer Obituary

COURNOYER, NORMAND R., 77, of Errol Street, Warwick, died on Friday, November 21, 2008 at Coventry Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Coventry. He was the husband of Helen E. (Young) Cournoyer.

Born in Woonsocket, the son of the late Rodolphe N. and Alice N. (Genereux) Cournoyer, he lived in Coventry before moving to Warwick in 1986. He was an Army veteran, and a member of Maurice Pion Chapter # 17, Disabled American Veterans, in West Warwick.

He was a member of INSIGHT, and a friend of Bill W. He was a former member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Paul F. Cournoyer of Coventry; three daughters, Jeannine A. Gadoury of Coventry, Suzanne T. McKirdy of Wolcott, CT, and Marguerite D. Cote of Coventry; a sister, Therese Dubois of Monksville, NC; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be held on Monday, November 24, at 10 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a service at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Transfiguration, 1665 Broad Street, Cranston. Visiting hours are Sunday 3-7 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
