MORIN, LIONEL A., 90, of Tanglewood Dr. and formerly of Wood St., passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Golden Crest Nursing Center, North Providence. He was the husband of Carmen S. (Dehenne) Morin for 62 yrs.
Born in Sanford, ME., he was a son of the late Laurent & Elmire (Roussin) Morin.
Lionel was employed in the Art Department at Quonset Point NAS for 30 years, retiring in 1974. He was a Sgt in the Army Air Corp during WWII serving in the European Theater where he received the Bronze Star.
He was a member of the Board of J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center for over 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #2.
He was the father of Lionel A.'Lenny' Morin of Warwick. Also survived by many nieces & nephews especially Suzanne Jarvis of Cranston and Preston Zylick of West Warwick. Lionel was pedeceased by his 15 siblings.
His funeral will be Monday at 9am from the Robert A. Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in SS John & James Parish. Burial with military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center, 3445 Post Rd., Warwick, RI 02887-7789 will be appreciated. iannottifh.com
