Giovanna Cafasso Obituary

CAFASSO (MOSCA), GIOVANNA 'JENNY' M., 82, of Carteret, N.J., passed away on Sunday. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Cafasso, Sr. and the daughter of the late Angelo A. and Maria (Callei) Mosca.

Giovanna graduated from Hope High School in Providence and studied nursing at the University of Rhode Island. She worked during World War II before settling down and devoting her life to her family. Jenny also resided in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, G.A. prior to her 47-year residency in Carteret, N.J.

Giovanna is survived by her six children, Joseph A. Cafasso, Jr., Mary-Angela G. Cafasso of Phoenix, A.Z., Anne E. Cafasso of Toms River, N.J., Elizabeth A. Cafasso of Suffield, C.T., Celeste C. Cafasso of Carteret and Nicholas J. Cafasso and his wife Carolyn of Lakewood, C.O. She also leaves her four grandchildren, Isabella, Nicholas, Ashley and Adam and one great granddaughter Amanda. She was the sister of Clementine 'Clara' Zinno of Camarillo, C.A. and the late Dominic, Palma C., and Angelo Mosca, Jr. Jenny also says good bye to many cherished relatives and friends.

Calling Hours, Thursday, August 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the A. A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence. Funeral Friday at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, Providence. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the St. Joseph's Ministry to the Poor Fund, 7 Locust Street, Carteret, New Jersey 07008.
