Robert Bowers Obituary

BOWERS, ROBERT E., 73, of Park Street, died Sunday at R.I. Hospital. He was the husband of the late Rose H. (Plante) Bowers.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Ernest E. and Ethel (Howarth) Bowers, he lived in Cranston for 21 years before moving to Johnston 8 years ago.

Mr. Bowers had been a moldmaker for the former M.J. Enterprises for many years until he retired in 1996.

He is survived by his children, Rosemarie A. Mancini of Providence, Julie A. Leveille and James R. Bowers, both of Johnston; a brother, James H. Bowers of Laramie, WY; a sister, Virginia Bowers of Pawtucket; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Robert J. Bowers and brother of the late Ernest H. Bowers and Barbara Smith.

His funeral will be Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Ste. 3004, Warwick, RI 02886, in his memory, will be appreciated. boyleandsonfuneralhome.com
