James Finn Obituary

FINN, JAMES V., 89, of Matunuck. Mr. Finn was born in Hopkinton, MA, the son of James T. and Mary E. (Kane) Finn. He graduated from Framingham High School in 1936. He also received degrees from Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina as well as Northeastern University. During World War II, Mr. Finn joined the Army Airforce and served in the Navy in the Korean War. Mr. Finn worked as an engineer for Raytheon Corp. for many years prior to becoming a school teacher at the Ladd School, a State-run facility for the developmentally disabled. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years.

His wife, Anastacia Coleman Finn died in 1964. His second wife, Josephine Donnellan Finn, whom he married in 1965, died in 1993. Survivors include his third wife, Dorothy Durkin Kenney Finn and stepson, Douglas Kenney of Westerly. In addition, he is survived by two children from his first marriage, Mary Ellen Nicoli of Matunuck and Framingham, MA and James Finn of Framingham; a daughter from his second marriage, Erin Finn Bazan of Bethesda, MD; a daughter, Kathleen 'Kate' Finn died in 2003. He is also survived by four stepchildren, Mark McKee of Lincoln, Charlene McKee of Cape Cod, Joel McKee of Matunuck, and Mary McKee of Portola Valley, CA. A stepdaughter, Anne McKee Berard, died in 2000. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. The children and grandchildren of Mr. Finn will be having a Memorial Mass at 10 AM on Saturday, August 25 at St. Romuald's Chapel, Atlantic Ave., Matunuck.

Dear family
I had the pleasure of meeting your father (my friend) in the year 2000.
When he quietly walked up to me at the VA Medical Center. Through the years he became a mentor with his quiet amd compassionate ways. I will truly miss him and our quiet talks.
