Helen Lanowy Obituary

LANOWY, HELEN (RYMANSKY), 92, of Rhodes Ave., and formerly of Mailloux St., Woonsocket, died Monday morning in the Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late John W. Lanowy.

Born July 7, 1915, in New York, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Pauline (Gouron) Rymansky. Mrs. Lanowy worked as a spinner for the former Bonte Spinning for over thirty years. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality and the kitchen crew for St. Michaels Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

She is survived by son, Ronald Lanowy of Cranston; a daughter, Gloria Turcotte of Cumberland; a sister, Jessie Carter of Blackstone; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Richard Lanowy and sister of the late Walter Rymansky and John Buchtyk.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket, with a service at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Harris Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI, 02914. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.
