Francis Regan Obituary

REGAN, FRANCIS E, 88, of Pocasset Lane, died August 24, 2007 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of the late Eva M. (Caranci) Regan. Born in Providence, growing up on Thurston Street at Roger Williams Park, he was the son of the late John M. and Louise F. (Collins) Regan.

Mr. Regan was a foreman for the former Grinnell Corporation for many years before retiring. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and a former member of the Holy Name Society at St. Lawrence Church.

Francis leaves two daughters, Patricia M. Cifelli of Lincoln and Mary Lou Buonaccorsi of Cranston, eight grandchildren, Mark Cifelli, Susan DelRicci, Ernest Buonaccorsi, Jamie Carr, Amy Celona, Kelly Holdridge, Brian and Michael Regan, and 18 great grandchildren. He was father of the late John M. Regan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Robert Bellarmine Church Tuesday at 10 AM. Visiting hours in the ROBBINS FUNERAL HOME, 2251 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, Monday 5-8 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Emergency Food Shelf, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.

I never met Mr. Regan face to face but I met him through his daughter's stories. May the angels hold you close and give you strength at this time and when you feel you don't need to be held so tight may they open their wings to let you stand on your own but always be near to catch you when you need them.
