Mildred Whalen Obituary

WHALEN, MILDRED E. (HOFMANN), age 103, of East Shore Drive passed away at home in the presence of her family Tuesday, August 28, 2007. She was the wife of the late William F. Whalen. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Ludwig and Maude (Anthony) Hofmann.

Mildred's heart and home were welcoming to all. She was a loyal Red Sox fan.

She was the mother of James F. Whalen, of West Greenwich, Barbara A. Etchells, of Warwick, Jean M. Silva and her husband, Thomas of Coventry, and the late Patricia Whalen. Mildred was much loved by her 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. She was the sister of the late Ludwig Hofmann, Marion Thompson, and Pearl Wall.

Her visiting hours will be Saturday 8:00 - 9:30 am in the Robert A. Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rt.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in SS John & Paul Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860 will be appreciated.

Mom,
I just wanted to thank you for all you have done for Grandma and all that you give to others. I hope you know how much you are loved and appreciated. Grandma will always live in our hearts and memories. You where always there when I needed you and I hope I can comfort you in your time of sorrow.
