Maria Antunes Obituary

ANTUNES, MARIA A., 67, of Providence, died Thursday, August 30, 2007 at home.

Born in Portugal, a daughter of Manuel Antunes and the late Virginia (Rodrigues) Antunes, she came to America in 1977. She has lived in Providence with her husband of 52 years, Antonio Antunes.

Mrs. Antunes had worked for the Bren Corp, formerly of Cranston, for 17 years before retiring in 2001.

Besides her husband she leaves 3 daughters; Manuela R. Antunes of Portugal, Ana M. Tavares and Maria L. Santo both of Cranston, 3 brothers; Manuel and Carlos Antunes both of Cranston and Sabino Antunes of Warwick, 4 sisters; Delfina Machado and Maria Parente both of Cranston, Maria Berto of Warwick and Maria Fonseca of Canada, 6 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. She was sister of the late Jose Antunes.

Funeral Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Stapleton-Barry-Holdredge Funeral Home, 684 Park Avenue, Cranston. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew Church at 10:00 a.m. Her life will be celebrated with calling hours Monday 2-4 and 7-9. Visit cranstonfuneral.com for directions.
