Carmela Calcagni Obituary
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Angelo B. and Filomena Mendillo.
Mrs. Calcagni was a hairdresser for many years before retiring. She was also a member of the Pell Manor Association and the Kelly Gazzero Post.
She was the mother of Kathleen Ruggiero and her husband Edward; sister of Rocco Mendillo, and the late Vincent, Angelo, Alfonse, Michele 'Tony' Mendillo, Lucy Falvo, Etta Fracassa, and Anna Carbone; grandmother of Lisa and Jennifer.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 8:00 am from the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial to follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. VISITATION SUNDAY 5-8 PM.

Dear Cousin Kathleen: My sympathies to you and your family on your mother's passing. I have good memories of visiting Aunt Dot and Uncle Arthur when I went with my father to see grandma at their house. Even though I haven't seen Auntie Dot in almost 20 years, I still remember all the fun we had whenever I did. She was my favorite! My deepest sympathy to Kathleen, Chuck, Lisa and Jennifer.

I have never hd the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Calcagni, but they say our children are a reflextion of us, and I have the pleasure of knowing her daughter Kathleen in which I have found a wonderful and loving friend, I know your mother must be very proud. At this time of sorrow we extend our deapest and heartfelt sympathy.
