John Dowling Obituary

DOWLING, JOHN F., JR., 78, of Woodsia Road, Narragansett, died Friday, September 28, 2007 at South County Hospital in Wakefield. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth J. (Gorman) Dowling.

Born in Waterbury, CT, a son of the late John F. and Virginia (Bessette) Dowling, he moved to Narragansett in 1986. Mr. Dowling worked in industrial sales at Pratt-Whitney Aircraft in CT for many years before retiring, and later worked at Paul Baileys Ford in Wakefield. He was a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army Artillery Unit during the Korean War.

He was the devoted father of Beth M. Boundy of Plainville, CT, Peter J. Dowling of Narragansett and Sara J. Rackliffe of Bristol, CT; and loving grandfather of Kayla and Anthony Paladino and Lester Chalmers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday at 11a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME-SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd., (Rt. 1A), Narragansett, followed by interment with Military Honors at RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
