It doesn't seem possible that it has been 5 years. The toughest holiday for me Dad is Thanksgiving, which was your favorite. It saddens me to think your last Thanksgiving here you didn't have your favorite meal....oh how I wish we could have one more turkey dinner together. Love and miss you very much...Lori xoxo

There are no words to fully express my sympathy for your loss. I remember the first thing Bob ever said to me was that I must be crazy to move from the warmth of GA to the cold of RI. I had never met anyone like him. He had a great sense of humor that made everyone laugh. But, he was also such a warm and loving man. He very much became a father to me; for which I will always be grateful. The memories of summer cookouts (especially putting up the screen house), birthday parties, and holiday gatherings are very special to me. Your family made my years in RI feel like home. I was heartbroken with the news of his passing and my inability to be there for you during this time. But, know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. And, some of the best memories of my life include Bob.
Love,
Claire Hogan

Bobby may have moved to Rumford, but he'll always be a Cranston boy to me. Although Bobby was only two years my senior, I learned a lot from him. . .about baseball (playing pick-up games at the former Monowatt and Brookside fields), fishing for carp in Speck's Pond and growing up in general. He helped lead a bunch of us through our awkward adolescent period, almost constantly snickering about life and our dumb questions. Bobby and Gene used to chauffeur us to those games in Gene's Caddy. Every once in a while we pooled our nickels and dimes to buy a new ball at Benny's -- a real American League ball, too. Those were great times for all of us and Bobby played a key role. We'll always remember the "kid from Ridge Street" with the exaggerated uppercut swing. . .and upbeat attitude. Bobby, you haven't left us, you simply crossed home plate with the winning run.
