Roland Loiselle Obituary

LOISELLE, ROLAND J., 86, formerly of the Rhode Island Veteran's Home, Bristol died Saturday at the Elmhurst Extended Care, Providence. He was the husband of the late Madeleine (Yates) Loiselle for fifty-four years.

Born in Pawtucket a son of the late George and Cora (Gauthier) Loiselle he had been a Pawtucket resident most of his life lived in Providence for ten years and moved to Bristol in 2002.

Roland was a WW-2 Navy Veteran serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre and the American Theatre and a recipient of the WW-2 Victory Medal. Prior to retiring in 1983 he had been employed as a lace maker at the New England Lace Co of Pawtucket for twenty five years and later worked in the Pawtucket School Dept. for twenty years. He was a member of the Jacques Cartier Society of Pawtucket.

He is survived by five sons, Alan Loiselle of Providence, Steven Loiselle of Wisconsin, Mark Loiselle of Seekonk, David Loiselle of Pawtucket and John Loiselle of Ledyard, CT; two daughters, Paula Benoit of Wakefield and Linda Loiselle of Providence, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Louise Laurenzo and brother of the late George, William, Raymond, Francis Loiselle, Flora Needham, Alice Emond and Rita Foisy.

Funeral Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. from the LACHAPELLE FUNERAL HOME, 643 Main St., Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Baptist Church, Slater St., Pawtucket at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours Tuesday 3:30-7:30. Burial with military honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers gifts in his memory may be made to the Elmhurst Extended Care, 50 Maude St., Providence, RI 02908. For directions and to sign the guest book visit www.lachapellefh.com.
