Gladys Doughty Obituary

DOUGHTY, GLADYS, T., (HARTLEY), 88, formerly of Medford Street, a homemaker, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Brentwood Health Center in Warwick. She was the wife of the late Ellsworth R.T. Doughty.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Edwin L. and Gladys (North) Hartley, she had lived in Warwick most of her life. Artistically talented, Mrs. Doughty enjoyed bringing the cleverness of her various handicrafts into the everyday lives of her family and friends. She was a member of the Shawomet Baptist Church.

Gladys was the mother of six sons, Paul N. Doughty of Warwick, Philip E. Doughty of Providence, Kenneth W. Doughty of Seminole, FL, Steven J. Doughty of East Haven, CT, Carl E. Doughty of Coventry and the late Russell E. Doughty. She has 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 10 am in the Shawomet Baptist Church, 1642 West Shore Road, Warwick. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Shawomet Baptist Church, 1642 West Shore Road, Warwick, RI 02889 will be appreciated. Information and guestbook visit www.TheQuinnFuneralHome.com.
