Lucio Marsocci Obituary

MARSOCCI, LUCIO, age 83, of West Warwick, died Saturday at home. He was the husband of Margaret (George) Marsocci, they had been married for 52 years.

Born in Warwick a son of the late Samuel and Gelsomina (Farinaro) Marsocci he had lived in West Warwick most of his life.

Mr. Marsocci was a partner in the Miss Cranston Diner for over 40 years retiring in 1986. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and took part in the Invasion of Normandy, Omaha Beach, June 6, 1944. He also survived a torpedoing of his ship April 9, 1945 in the English Channel.

Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Conti of West Warwick, Donna Marsocci of Warwick, Susan Marsocci of Coventry and two grandchildren, R.J. and Bianca. He was the brother of Connie Beron and Samuel Marsocci both of Coventry and the late Angie Furia, Olga Parente, Olindo, Hugo and Joseph Marsocci.

Funeral service will be Wedenesday at 10 a.m. at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Special thank you to Dr. Frank LaFazia.
