Ann Knecht Obituary

KNECHT, ANN M. (CUNNINGHAM), 75, of Briar Circle, Jupiter, Florida, and formerly of West Warwick, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Palm Beach Gardens Hospital Hospice Unit in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. She was the wife of the late Arthur W. Knecht, Jr.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John J. and Margaret M. (Clarke) Cunningham, she lived in West Warwick before moving to Jupiter in 1994.

Mrs. Knecht was a receptionist at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence for several years during the 1970's. Before her marriage, she was employed in the accounting department at Brown & Sharpe Mfg. in Providence. With her husband, she had served as a volunteer at Jupiter Medical Center. She was a member of St. Peter's Parish in Jupiter.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol A. LaCroix of Jupiter, FL; a son, James A. Knecht, and his wife Beth, of Windsor Locks, CT; two brothers, Edward J. Cunningham of Deerfield Beach, FL, and Robert J. Cunningham, and his wife Marilyn, of Narragansett; three grandchildren, Peter Silva, and his wife Amy, Shannon McGee, and her husband Wes, and Sarah Knecht; and a great grandson, Evan McGee. She was the mother of the late Arthur W. Knecht, III, and the sister of the late Joseph F. Cunningham.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 24, at 9 a.m. from the Peter J. Barrett Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
