Edward C. Carlin Sr.

CARLIN, EDWARD C., SR., passed away Sunday, October 21, 2007. He was the beloved husband of Helen M. (Burns) Carlin.

Born on October 5, 1912 in Providence, RI, he was a son of the late Edward and Katherine (Ford) Carlin.

Mr. Carlin owned and operated Eddie's Esso on Charles St. and Hope St. (which eventually became Eddie's Getty's).

He was a communicant of St. Paul Church in Cranston where he sang in the choir for many years and was a member of the Finnegan Council Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, a son Edward C. Carlin, Jr. of Harrisville, and daughters Barbara A. Beauregard of Exeter and Kathleen E. Gallagher of Cranston; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren to whom he spoke of family and love and who were his 'true values'.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:15 AM from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul Church, One St. Paul Place, Edgewood at 10 AM. Visitation Wednesday 8:15-9:15 AM. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers contributions to Meals on Wheels, 70 Bath St, Providence, RI 02908 will be appreciated.
