Arthur Silvia Obituary
Born in Newport, RI he was the son of Olivia (Sousa) Silvia of Bristol and the late Arthur Silvia. He also leaves a daughter, Barbara Silvia of Bristol; 2 sons, Gregory Silvia of Warren and David Silvia of Bristol; along with 2 grandaughters, Sarah Goss and Hayley Goss. In addition, he is survived by 4 sisters, Mary Lou Anderson, Olivia Belmore and Patricia Silvia, all of Bristol, and Annette Silvia of Warwick.
Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a Manager for Verizon for almost 40 years. He was a Graduate of Lasalle Academy in Providence and the University of RI. He was a Board Member of the Christmas Mountain Assn. of Bartlett, NH. Mr. Silvia was a communicant of Holy Ghost Parish in Tiverton.
Visitation will be held on WEDNESDAY from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 290 Bedford St., Fall River, MA. His Funeral will be held on THURSDAY at 8 a.m. from the POCASSET MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 462 Main Rd., Tiverton, RI with a 9 a.m. Mass at Holy Ghost Church.
