Walter Brzoza Obituary

BRZOZA, WALTER R., 87, of Pennsylvania Ave., passed away Saturday at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of Marion (Smith) Brzoza. They had been married for 55 years.

Born in Coventry, a son of the late Andrew and Antonina (Biesiadecka) Brzoza. He was a lifelong resident of the Pawtuxet Valley area.

Mr. Brzoza was employed with the Town of West Warwick Highway Department for 30 years before retiring in 1986. He was a World War II Army Veteran and an avid Boston Red Sox and Bruins fan.

Besides his wife he leaves three daughters, Alice Maher and Laureen Brzoza both of West Warwick and Toni Nylander in Florida; a sister, Genevieve Maguire of Greene; a brother, Sylvester Brzoza of Exeter and two grandsons, Andrew and Vincent Maher. He was the brother of the late Albert, Frank, Joseph, John Brzoza and Julia Champagne.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 am from the HENAULT GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, Washington St., Coventry. Interment will follow with Military Honors in St. Mary Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 9-10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions to American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Ste. 3004, Warwick, RI 02886 in his memory would be appreciated.
