William Roberts Obituary

ROBERTS, WILLIAM HELLER, 93, of South Bay Manor, died Saturday. He was married to the late Beulah (Paiter) Roberts for 54 years.

Born in Chicago, IL, he was a son of the late Rufus John and Bessie Evelyn (Heller) Roberts. Mr. Roberts graduated from Easton (PA) High School in 1931 and from Lafayette College in 1936 with the degree of B.S. in Administrative Engineering.

Mr. Roberts served in the U.S. Army Air Force during W.W. II after which he was employed by a series of federal agencies operating out of Detroit, MI. After retiring in 1973, he moved from Sterling Heights, MI to Wakefield.

Mr. Roberts was interested in the history and design of the automobile and was also fond of classical music. He and his wife were world travelers and supported the South County Hospital, the Kingston Chamber Music Festivals and the Courthouse Center for the Arts.

Surviving is a sister Mary Rule (Roberts) Thomas of Bangor, PA and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be at the AVERY-STORTI Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Wednesday 4-6 PM. Funeral services and burial will be private in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Memorial donations may be made to the Kingston Chamber Music Festival, PO Box 1733, Kingston, RI 02881.
