Gerard L. Cinq-Mars

CINQ-MARS, GERARD L. 'SAM', 78, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007 after a lengthy illness with Picks Disease. He was the beloved husband for 44 years of Claire E. (Fortin) Cinq-Mars, the former owner of Claire's House of Beauty, Seekonk.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Henri and Alice (Olivier) Cinq-Mars, he resided in Seekonk since 1963.

Sam served in the US Army Airborne Division as a Corporal during the Korean War. He was a rigger for Hallamore Transportation Co., Holbrook, MA for over 20 years until retiring in 1990 and was previously employed by Pelletier Trucking Co., Pawtucket. He was a retiree of Teamsters Local No. 251; charter member of St. Mary's Senior Saints; former Scout Master with Troop 1, North Seekonk and an avid gardener and outdoorsman.

Besides his wife he leaves one son, Paul L. Cinq-Mars and his wife Sandra of Seekonk; two lovely grandchildren, Allison and Haley and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph, Francis, Leo, George, Theresa, Anita Cinq-Mars and Helena Cullen.

His funeral with Military Honors will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Coyle Dr., Seekonk. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
