Louis Costa Obituary

COSTA, LOUIS, 85, of Count Fleet Avenue, died Thursday, October 25, 2007 at RI Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Mary P. 'Pat' (McGetrick) Costa for 56 years.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph Costa and Margaret (Souza) Costa-Rego, he had been a Warwick resident for 55 years. Mr. Costa was employed as an assistant brew master for Narragansett Brewery for 31 years and in material control for Electric Boat for 5 years before retiring. He was a WWII Army veteran and served with the 82nd Airborne Division and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Joseph L. Costa and David M. Costa both of West Warwick, Kevin L. Costa of Westerly, Louis G. Costa of Warwick and Sharon A. Enright of Londonderry, NH; two sisters, Gilda Amoruso of FL, and Dolores Silliphant of Barrington and 7 grandchildren. He was the brother of the late James, Herman, Joseph, Patsy and Helen Costa.

His funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Timothy Church, Warwick Avenue at 9 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7 p.m.
